CHAD - Community Health and Disability

Everyone always has something to CHAD about.....

Working together towards a non-disabling society, for people with disabilities and therefore increase opportunities to participate, we provide a complimentary cup of tea meeting to meet informally. 

We welcome the opportunity for your organisation or community group, anywhere within the Taranaki region, to join this group. Take this golden opportunity to participate with the local health and disability network groups gathered here at the Centre. Conversation is the networking heart of every successful relationship, and support workers and carers we meet monthly to discuss and ........

  • Share knowledge and concerns between interested members.

  • Discuss where cooperation can increase the integration of services.

  • Get updates on the organisation's changes and strategies.

Meeting Times & Location 

  • Time:       10am - 11:45am approximately 1.5 

  • Venue:     28 Young Street - Meeting Room

  • Second     Tuesday of each month


A staff from the Taranaki Disabilities Information Centre, who facilitates the flow of the meeting, to make sure it runs smoothly and covers the important items. A good facilitator will make sure everyone listens, stays on topic, shares evenly allocated time amongst speaking individual and knows their group roles, and helps to make all attendee's feel included in the process.


In CHAD meeting there is no formal secretary to take the minutes, therefor a flip chart is passed and circulated, and you write your comments and activities,  then its collated, typed up, then emailed out Any previous CHAD Meeting Minutes you’ve may not have received, email ahead to receive your copy, stay in touch.

Attended Groups

  • Organisational groups that have a community health and disability focus.
  • Government organisations can delegate different representatives to attend if needed.
  • Non-profit organisations
  • Attendees that have a commercial interest, a prepared presentation in the last quarter of the meeting, can be allocated to your needs.
